I’ve had a little conversation by email with Michael Toland – Manager of National Productions at KLRU-TV in Austin, Texas – that’s the station that produces Austin City Limits.

We talked about posting unauthorized files from the shows and one of my questions was if they were considering the release of these performances on DVD.

He explained to me that even though they want to see all the shows come out on DVD and CD, it’s a matter of their distribution partner New West Records and the artists coming to an agreement.

For that reason he proposed and encouraged to spread the word that if fans want to see certain shows on DVD, they should e-mail New West at clare@newwestrecords.com and let them know which artists they want as part of the Live From Austin TX line.

New West is keeping a talley.

Well, that’s it. Just wanted to share and spread the word about this. If you check the DVD and CD catalog of ACL’s series is very poor, and as a matter of fact I DO like to see/have Wilco, Arcade Fire, Calexico, Sufjan among others ACL’s shows on DVD and CD.

So, let’s take this opportunity.
