The Polyphonic Spree @ MTV VMA was the first time I saw the band without knowing they were TPS!!!…. In that time circa 2003-2004 I was laughing and ashamed with “those weird religious guys” (shame on me)…. but you know, it’s funny how people grow and now I’m a big fan of them, since that moment I haven’t seen that performance again until last week when I finally found it and uploaded it at youtube, great!!, marvelous!!!
Esa presentación de la banda fue la primera vez que los veía sin saber que eran los Polyphonic… en esa época circa 2003-2004 yo me reía (burlaba) y sentía pena por esos “tipos religiosos en trajes”… pero como todo cambia y la gente pase de pensamiento adolescente a adulto (gracias a Dios!!!) ahora soy un fan de la banda, y desde ese momento en los MTV no había vuelto a ver el video hasta la semana pasada que por fin lo encontré y subí a youtube.
This is not a real review… it’s just an opinion.
Right there, at the end of Neon Bible, I thought I wouldn’t be able to listen this year any orchestral, pompous symphonic music… ever.
I was wrong, when I was listening new Polyphonic Spree’s album titled The Fragile Army; I realized I would never be happy and synchronized at the same time in my life… ever. So I said goodbye to drama…
Though this album is very horizontal, every song is an injection of overcharged sounds, chorus, singing, claps and happiness…. Hallelujah brother, hallelujah!!!!!
The only thing I’ll miss is the outfit… I want the robes back.

Esta no es una verdadera reseña.. sólo un pensamiento.
Ahí donde terminaba Neon Bible, pensé que no volvería escuchar sonidos orquestales, pomposos, sinfónicos grandilocuentes.
Estaba equivocado, al disfrutar el nuevo álbum de The Polyphonic Spree titulado The Fragile Army, me doy cuenta que jamás en la vida seré tan feliz y sincronizado a la vez. Asi que adiós al drama.
A pesar que es muy homogéneo, cada canción es una inyección sobrecargada de sonidos cantos, marchas, coros y felicidad (no importa en realidad si es muy forzada)… Aleluya hermano, aleluya!!!!
Lo que he de extrañar en esta nueva etapa son las batas.. ahora tienen nuevos uniformes.. quiero las batas de regreso.
When I finally listened the EP “Paris is Burning” I figured out the talent of this girl.
St. Vincent is the solo project of Annie Clark, a young multi instrumentalist member of The Polyphonic Spree and part of Sufjan Stevens’ touring band. Marry Me is her album debut to be released this July and right know there is hype about her performance.
In fact I don’t know what’s the final musical style of Annie, her compositions have a little bit of Pj Harvey, Tori Amos, blues, sometimes is dark, and sometimes is beautiful.
Anyway, I’m looking forward the album debut.

No fue sino hasta escuchar el EP Paris is Burning en el que pude apreciar esta chica.
St. Vincent es como se hace llamar Annie Clark, joven instrumentalista miembro de la banda The Polyphonic Spree y acompañante vocal de Sufjan Stevens. Marry Me será su álbum debut a salir en Julio de este año y desde ya está haciendo “bulla” con la propuesta que trae, posiblemente catapultada por su historial artístico y por lo que dejó entrever con su EP.
En realidad no se cual será el estilo final de su propuesta, sus composiciones tienen un aire a PJ Harvey, a veces a Tori Amos, otras veces muy blues, otras veces oscuro y rosa.
A raíz de todo esto… espero su debut.
