- Xiu Xiu: I’m going to listen this album on February, but for now “I do what I want, when I want” and “Under Pressure” are favorites.

- Sébastien Tellier: This one is out on March, but I’m stick with it. Sometimes I feel Barry White is going to sing in one of these songs. The hand of Daft Punk is on this work.

- Vampire Weekend: Stop the madness, stop the over-hype, over-blogging. The band is nice…. but that’s it. Don’t let them be an Arctic Monkeys.

- Now, the best thing ever released on January was The Magnetic Fields’ Distortion (at least in my opinion). This is my winter-season album, music to be listened alone, to get drunk, to be depressed but in some way happy. This album is beautiful in its own way. I’ll Dream Alone, Too Drunk to Dream and Old Fools are my new hymns. Please check this album now.

- Vampire Weekend: Tuve que parar de escucharlos, siento que será una de las bandas más hypeadas y “sobreblogueadas” del año…. sin embargo, me agradan estos amigos, pero me asusta que todo está pasando muy rápido (cough*arctic monkeys effect*cough)

- Pero, lo mejor que pasó en Enero para mi, es el Distortion de The Magnetic Fields. Es mi disco para esta temporada, lo recomiendo 100%, es música para el invierno, para estar deprimido pero feliz. Es el disco de la belleza, pero sin llegar a cosas melómanas, es el disco para emborracharse, para estar solo pero sentirse con bien. I’l Dream Alone, Too Drunk to Dream y Old Fools son como unos mini himnos ahora en adelante. Escúchenlo.

Just a glimpse of upcoming Mars Volta’s fourth album The Bedlam In Goliath to be released on January 2008 and produced by Omar Rodríguez- López

According to wikipedia, “Rapid Fire Tollbooth”, a track from Omar’s Se Dice Bisonte, No Búfalo, was reworked for this album and reappears as the song “Goliath”

Esto es un abreboca del cuarto álbum de The Mars Volta “The Bedlam In Goliath” que será lanzado en Enero de 2008.

De acuerdo a la wikipedia, la canción “Rapid Fire Tollbooth” del álbum Se Dice Bisonte, No Búfalo de Omar, fue “retrabajado” e incorporado en el de Mars Volta bajo el nombre de “Goliath” (que es el que se muestra a continuación)

Se dice Bisonte, No Búfalo, es el nombre correspondiente al más reciente trabajo en solitario del guitarrista de The Mars Volta. Ayer lo escuché en su totalidad y bueno, merecía post , además que salió a la venta.

En los 10 tracks del álbum, Omar con su guitarra hacen un viaje por la psicodelia y la creación de atmósferas muy influenciadas por Pink Floyd pero incorporando de vez en cuando ritmos latinos, haciendo muy exótico este trabajo.
A su vez, tres de las composiciones tienen voces gracias a la colaboración del cantante de The Mars Volta, sin embargo algunos tracks tienden a cansar un poco debido a la variedad de sonidos entremezclados.

De acuerdo a la wikipedia, Se dice Bisonte, No Búfalo es uno de los 4 trabajos que realizó Omar mientras se encontraba en Alemania simultáneamente con la grabación de Amputechture de The Mars volta y de la banda sonora de la película mexicana El Búfalo de la Noche, con guión de Guillermo Arriaga, del cual fue inspiración para el nombre de este trabajo.

En fin, sin más preámbulos, Se dice Bisonte, No Búfalo es un álbum experimental bien interesante para todo aquel que quiera darse una vuelta por la psicodelia, enriquecida por los riff de una guitarra.

English Version:

Se dice Bisonte, No Búfalo, is the title of the new album of The Mars Volta’s guitarist Omar Rodríguez López. Yesterday I listened to it and is necessary to post about the experience.

In 10 tracks Omar leads a psychedelic journey, creating musical atmospheres, obviously under the influence of Pink Floyd but incorporating Latin rhythms, which made this album very exotic.
Overall the album is pretty great but there’re some tracks you just want to skip it, just messy!!!!
For the record, the voice of the non-instrumental tracks is from The Mars Volta’s vocalist.

According to wikipedia, Se dice Bisonte, No Búfalo, is one of the 4 works Omar made while he was in Germany, this album was conceived during the recording of Mars Volta’s Amputechture and the soundtrack of the Mexican film El Búfalo de la Noche based on Guillermo Arriaga’s story, which was the inspiration for the title of this work.

Se dice Bisonte, No Búfalo is an interesting experimental album to all the people who likes to go around psychedelic music charged with guitar riffs and progressive notes.
