Español: Otra de las miles razones por la que debo agradecer a la película Little Miss Sunshine es el haber podido escuchar esta banda de Denver. DeVotchka, es un grupo que mezcla distintos estilos musicales como el Mariachi, la música griega y música de la Europa Oriental, adaptándolos al folk americano.
Nos quedaríamos cortos tratando de relacionarlos con alguna banda en particular, pero su estilo es cercano a Caléxico, Iron&Wine con mezcla de Beirut. Su reciente trabajo, apartando su gran colaboración en la banda Sonora de Little Miss Sunshine, es el EP Curse Your Little Heart (2006), sin embargo el último larga duración es el How It Ends del año 2002 14 cortes en el cual se pasean por las raices folklóricas mexicanas en “We’re Leaving”, un track especial con acordeones que no le pierde la pinta a Yann Tiersen “Charlotte Mittnacht” y las fiesta “árabe” o quizás griega de su “Dearly Departed” y “Lunnaya Pogonka” son momentos claves de este agradable álbum que no podrás dejar pasar por alto por su riqueza en diversidad sonora.
No obstante, es claro que su trademark viene enmarcada por el single “You Love Me” y el que le da nombre al álbum “How It Ends” que por cierto está incluída en la película Little Miss Sunshine, entre otros. No quedaría nada más que decir que se recomienda altamente.

I discovered this band thanks to Miss Little Sunshine movie. DeVotchka from Denver - USA, is a group that mixes several music styles as Mariachi, Greek music and Eastern Europe music fusing them with american folk. If I should relate it to another band, it would be an hybrid between Iron&Wine with Calexico………… and Beirut.
Their current work, without considering their collaboration on Mis Little Sunshine Soundtrack, is the EP Curse Your Little Heart 2006, nonetheless, their last LP is How It Ends (2002) This LP has 14 tracks traveling around mexican folk roots in the song “We’re leaving”, a special track with accordions “ala” Yann Tiersen named “Charlotte Mittnacht” and the Arabic party (or greek) of “Dearly Departed” and “Lunnaya Pogonka”.
These songs are the key moments of this enjoyable album you can’t leave behind, In fact, is very clear that the trademark of the band is inside the single “You Love Me” and “How It Ends” I don’t have nothing more to say, just enjoy it. Highly Recommended.
