Finally, after almost 2 years, the blog has its own “voice” (really, don’t know what I’m saying)… so, after months of hard work inside a bunker it’s time to release the new logo (applauses).

This is exactly as I wanted it, a big big big thanks to Lemurasesino for this work, kudos to you!!!

I’m going to change the banner and choose a new theme for the blog, this will take time. For now, I¡ll call an agency for POP stuff: caps, shirts, underwear, shoes and the most important: socks.

Finalmente, luego de casi 2 años este blog tiene su propia “voz” (realmente no se lo que digo)… es por ello que luego de meses de duro trabajo dentro de un bunker llegó la hora de lanzar el nuevo logo (aplausos)

Esto es exactamente como lo quería, debo agradecer enormemente a Lemurasesino por el gran trabajo que realizó, todo el crédito va para ti

Por ahora queda pendiente modificar banner y para quien sabe cuando una nueva plantilla, pero todo con calma…. ah y por supuesto el merchandise correspondiente: gorras, franelas, stickers, overoles, cholas, interiores, blumas y medias…. me pueden contactar para tomar los encargos de los liquiliqui por el correo o dejar comentario en el myspace, el last.fm y proximamente en facebook (el año que viene).

This is the time of year when everyone makes the end-year lists, with these we’ll see how homogeneous music bloggers’ preferences are
I enjoy these lists but I always have a panic attack, I really don’t like to classify 20 albums as “best of year”. To make it simple, I started to answer what 2007 represented to me (musically speaking)

So, with Excel help, I finished a subjective and surreal top 20 (pre-recorded applauses) and after that top, there’re 30 albums that complete my “2007 musical experience” in alphabetical order.

For sure, 2007 was a good year, looking forward the next one.

Llegó el momento del año que cada quien realiza su top como ejercio en saber que tan homogénea puede llegar a ser la blogósfera musical

Como es tradición en mi persona, siento un pavor terrible seleccionando 20 discos y calificarlos como “lo mejor del año”, es por ello que para hacerlo más fácil partí de la premisa: ¿qué representó para mi el 2007?

Con hoja de excel para facilitar la labor llegué a la lista que presento a continuación: Mi top 20 en orden de preferencia (aplausos pregrabados), luego del top están los siguientes 30 discos ordenados alfabéticamente que si bien no entran en el “juego subjetivo del top” son una gran muestra de lo que fue mi 2007 musical, desde lo más mainstream de mi ser (amy winehouse ), hasta lo más WTF!!!

Aprovechando las festividades de Semana Santa me anticipo a tomar un break en el blog y así ir preparándome para visitar el bello país de México para asistir entre otras cosas al concierto de Yann Tiersen del 31 de Marzo en el Teatro de la Ciudad (muéranse de la envidia, jeje), por lo que hasta el 9 de Abril verán poca o nula actividad en este espacio.

En su momento tendrán reseña del concierto, ya pasó mi preocupación en saber que seguramente no veré al Yann Tiersen de Amelie, sino al del sonido más rockero/experimental siguiendo el estilo que ha estado tomando en esta última gira y que se ha visto plasmado en su reciente disco en vivo titulado “On Tour”

PD: Ya les dije que se murieran de la envidia no?

Deaf Indie Elephants is taking a break, I’m going to visit the beautiful country of Mexico in order to assist to Yann Tiersen’s concert on March 31th. So, from this moment until April 9 you won’t see any activitie on the blog (maybe one or two posts)

You will have a review of the concert. Right now, I KNOW I won’t see the Yann Tiersen from Amelie…. the new Yann has a rock/experimental style, you can notice this in his new live cd “On Tour”

- Bueno, esto lo tenía en mente en los últimos días y gracias a una pea decidí hacerlo.
- No es para nada PRO, de hecho por ahí se oye mi mamá de fondo, tiros, ambulancias, golpes con el micrófono, cambios bruscos en el audio, y muchas esessssssssssss.
- A pesar de todo esto, es un podcast serio, con 2 o 3 comentarios pena ajenísticos… anyway, son 23 minutos en los que tendrán el placer de oír mi voz acartonada número 57, lo más natural que pude llegar a ponerla.
- A la final es un ejercicio para matar fiebre, no será algo recurrente, me atrevo a decir que puede ser el primero y único…. y ni loco pienso sacarlo en inglés esto es demasiado trabajo.

- Lo que hay en el podcast se resume en:

1.- Intro, de qué va este podcast? (Cero caspa, cero 80’s, sólo indie)
2.- Comentario del fenómeno de los blogs musicales y la industria musical. (Caso Arctic Monkeys)
3.- Reseña de 4 buenas bandas que seguramente no escuchaste en el 2006. (Sufjan Stevens, Beirut, TV On The Radio, Grizzly Bear)
4.- Lo que se vaticina para el 2007 a nivel musical indie.
