As I said in the last post, this week I have in high rotation Sonic Youth’s Dirty album, one of my favorite songs is Nic Fit because it’s fast, efective, violent and you won’t understand it if your first language is not english 
(that was my case), but still is a great song. However, it’s not a Sonic Youth song, the original one is from deceased punk band Untouchables. (mp3 at bottom)…. nic fit nic fit nic fit nic fit nic fit…..
Como dije en el post anterior tengo una fiebre con el Dirty de Sonic Youth esta semana, una de las canciones que me agrada por su particularidad es Nic Fit, rápida, efectiva, violenta y ciertamente inentendible para alguien que su lengua principal no sea el inglés (ese fue mi caso), pero no por eso deja de ser una joya. Sometimes I forget how much I like Sonic Youth, this week I had in high rotation the Dry album and suddenly (while I was rocking with Nic Fit) I thought that a cover post would be nice. I started to search and I found a lot, but I stopped it because I think this page has a looot of information about Sonic Youth covers. Enjoy it.

A friend of mine told me if I could find her the song Llorando, the one on Mulholland Drive movie… so, when I was searching I realized this one was a cover of the famous song (for everybody but not for me ) “Crying” by Roy Orbison.
Of all the covers I found, the acapella spanish version of Rebekah del Río is the best without a doubt.
Una amiga me dijo que le consiguiera la canción Llorando que salía en Mulholland Drive cantada en el Club Silencio… en fin que mientras revisaba fue que salí debajo la roca donde había estado todo este tiempo sin saber que en realidad era un cover de la “famosa” canción (para el mundo entero menos para mi 
) de Roy Orbison.
De todas las versiones que se pueden conseguir, sin duda la versión en español acapella de Rebekah del Río se las lleva a todas por delante, eso si es transmitir emociones.

One artist covering a bunch of songs. This new edition with The Flaming Lips covering Beck, Elvis, White Stripes, Radiohead, Bowie and more, this is just an excellent selection.
Just two things: Life on Mars has an audio problem (I tried several versions and I couldn’t find a clear one), John Lennon’s cover is cut at the end (once again, I tried several versions and couldn’t find a perfect one)
Un artista haciendo covers de distintas canciones. Esta nueva edición con The Flaming Lips haciendo covers de Beck, Elvis, White Stripes, Radiohead, Bowie y más, esta es una excelente selección.
Sólo 2 cosas debo mencionar: Tanto Life on Mars como la de John Lennon tienen unos problemas de audio. Intenté bajar varias versiones pero no encontré ninguna que estuviese 100% limpia. (si consiguen, avísenme, gracias)

I’ve discovered the warm water!!!
Now is when I know that Bjork’s It’s oh so quiet is a cover of Betty Hutton’s Blow a Fuse (later renamed as It’s Oh So quiet),
I like Björk, but between the original and the cover there’s not a big difference… when can you consider a song as a real cover?

Ahora es que leo que el It’s Oh So Quiet de Bjork en realidad es un cover de la canción Blow a Fuse de Betty Hutton….. No se, me agrada Björk, pero entre la original y el cover en realidad no hay mucha diferencia que digamos… cuándo en realidad se le puede llamar a un cover.. cover?

The first post on the new section features a couple of songs played on Theremin.
Isn’t this instrument amazing? Just moving the hands to control frequency and volume without touching it.
There are variations of this instrument and one of them is called Matryomin, in few words it’s a theremin in a Matrioshka doll, in the next video Moon River is interpreted on one of those things. Amazing!!!
I was looking for reggaeton songs on Theremin…. but I failed

¿No les parece increible este instrumento? Sólo hay que mover las manos sobre las antenas para controlar la frecuencia y el volumen.. todo esto sin tocar el aparato.
Hay variaciones de este instrumento y una de las que me llamó la atención es el llamado Matryomin, en pocas palabras es un theremín dentro de una de estas muñecas rusas Matrioshka, en el video que acompaña el post pueden ver la interpretación de Moon River con este instrumento. Increible!!!
