This post was “inspired” when I was watching trailers of Julie Taymor’s Beatles musical: Across The Universe. At first it looks nice but is it good? Rotten Tomatoes rated it 52% but imdb 7.9…. anyway, I want to see that movie, no matter if it’s only “random Beatles songs on video”.

So, “wikipeding” there’s a bunch of covers of the song and I found them very very fast.

Veo opiniones muy disparejas y siguiendo a los “cr�ticos” Rotten Tomatoes le dio un 52% pero imdb 7.9…. bueno, de todas formas debo verla.

Al wikipediar al canci�n hay una gran cantidad de covers, lo bueno es que fue realmente f�cil conseguir este compilado que les coloco.

According to wikipedia: Cortez The Killer is a Neil Young�s song from the album Zuma of 1975, this song is ranked number 321 on Rolling Stone�s list of 500 Greatest songs of all time.

It�s inspired by Hern�n Cort�s who conquered Mexico; in the song there are historical references to Aztecs and general M�xico conquest.

I found 2 covers of this great song, my favorite Built To Spill (20 mins). There are more covers, even Pearl Jam made one but the quality is poor.

De acuerdo a la wikipedia, Cortez The Killer es original de Neil Young, forma parte del �lbum Zuma de 1975 y es la canci�n n�mero 321 en la lista de las 500 grandes canciones de todos los tiempos de la Rolling Stone, inspirada en el conquistador Hern�n Cort�s y haciendo referencia hist�ricas de la conquista a M�xico.

Encontr� 2 covers de esta gran canci�n, mi favorita la de Built To Spill, que llega a los 20 min de duraci�n. Existen muchos m�s, incluso una de Pearl Jam, pero su calidad es muy pobre.
