Deaf Indie Elephants

Yeasayer is one of those bands I wanted to see on a Take Away Show, playing 2080, in the year 2008, in a subway and in a sing-a-long session with a bunch of people…. all of these things at the same time.

Finally my dream is a reality in this new episode of The Take Away Shows @ La Blogotheque. Without a doubt, 2080/Tightrope video is one of my favorites performance so far from La Blogotheque this year

Yeasayer es una de esas bandas que quería ver en un Take Away Show, interpretando la canción 2080, en el 2008, en un metro y cantando con mucha gente alrededor….. todo esto al mismo tiempo.

Finalmente mi sueño es una realidad en este nuevo episodio de The Take Away Shows @ La Blogotheque. Sin duda el video de 2080/Tightrope es uno de mis favoritos de la blogotheque este año

Since their EP I’ve always compared them to Arctics Monkeys: Buzz Band, young guys, and a lot of catchy songs.

Even though I think there’s a lot of hype around them, all of this fade out when I start to listen their album debut Vampire Weekend… damn it!! every song from this cd is a potential hit/single/whatever, they know it, you know it.. and that’s the formula. I still believe they will be big this year… let’s hope they can exceed expectation & hype.

So, to promote their cd they did a Take Away Show episode from La Blogotheque, after the jump the mp3s.

Desde que salió su EP siempre los comparé (salvando las diferencias de estilo) con Arctics Monkeys: jóvenes, mucho buzz en internet, y varias canciones pegajosas en sus mangas.

Todavía mantengo que hay mucho hype a su alrededor, pero todo esto se desvanece cuando empieza a sonar las primeras notas de su álbum debut Vampire Weekend. Por Dios!!! cualquier canción de ese CD es un hit/single potencial, ellos lo saben y tu también lo sabes, y con esas notas y coros pegajosos han encontrado la fórmula. Ellos serán grande este año, sólo espero que puedan ir más allá de las expectativas y el hype.

Con motivos de promoción la banda hizo una presentación en un nuevo episodio del Take Away Show de La Blogotheque. Para su disfrute.

Finally I put my hands on Jonquil. It’s very nice, and in fact it’s weird I haven’t listened before… anyway, my joy arrived when checking La Blogotheque’s Take Away Show I found an episode featuring this band… I like Lions so much, it’s what music should be, so simple and enjoyable at the same time.

Es bien interesante la banda y a la vez me extraña no haberla escuchado antes… ni modo, mi verdadera alegría llegó cuando al revisar La Blogotheque, encontré un episodio del Take Away Show con ellos…. Lions me gusta, es lo que la música debe ser, tan simple y disfrutable al mismo tiempo.

Blogotheque’s guys went to NY to record with Beirut each track of The Flying Club Cup album.
At the flyingclupcup website you can watch every performance, but the good news is that this project will go to DVD with bonus extras and yada yada yada, it will be titled “Cheap Magic Inside” and will be available in the European tour, we’re still waiting for the US release information,

So, here’s the ripped of each track from the blogotheque’s videos until the official release of the DVD. (it would be nice if Blogotheque and FlyingClubCup guys create a CD from these recordings)

Los chicos de La Blogotheque fueron recientemente a NY para grabar cada track del álbum The Flying Club Cup de Beirut.
El resultado de cada video se puede apreciar en el site flyingclubcup.com, sin embargo la buena nueva es que decidieron convertir este proyecto en un DVD titulado “Cheap Magic Inside” el cual será distribuido en la próxima gira europea de Beirut, todavía se espera por la información sobre el lanzamiento en USA.

Es por ello, que aquí podrás escuchar cada track ripeado de esas grabaciones, al menos hasta que salga el DVD oficial y se pueda apreciar con mejor calidad. (por cierto, sería bueno que el equipo de la Blogotheque y FlyingClubCup sacaran un CD de estas grabaciones)

This time they sing the single “Sunday Smile”, it will be included in the next Beirut’s LP probably titled “The Flying Club Cup” to be released this October.
