Bajo la perspectiva de 5 mujeres al mejor estilo de Strange Little Girls: Pip, Santa, Isabel, Clyde y Tori, cada una con una personalidad definida y su propio blog en el que desarrollan sus ideas, Tori Amos ha regresado con American Doll Posse, su noveno álbum.
Desde Boys For Pele y Choirgirl no había disfrutado tanto de sus trabajos, a pesar que Tori ya está posicionada como una de las compositoras más influyentes y representativas de los 90’s ya no tiene en si más que demostrar, sin embargo American Doll Posse es sin duda uno de sus mejores trabajos en su carrera. Pasando desde rock, gospel, influencias blues y soul, este álbum recopila los mejores momentos de sus etapas pasadas para mostrarlo nuevo y fresco pero sin olvidar que sigue siendo Tori.
Highlights: Big Wheel, single promocional en el que se autodenomina una MILF, Bouncing off Clouds que posiblemente sea el siguiente single del disco, Teenage Hustling la más “agresiva” mi favorita de todo el álbum, excelente cuando sea interpretada en vivo, Code Red oscura me recuerda mucho al álbum Pelé, Mr. Bad Man alegre pieza y Almost Rosey que son las “típicas” canciones de Tori con los arreglos de piano.
En fin, 23 canciones para un gran álbum del que seguramente me he quedado corto en expresar sus puntos fuertes, sin embargo es agresivo, sentimental, personal y diverso pero sin llegar a los niveles que caracterizaron Little Earthquakes, Boy From Pele o Scarlet’s Walk, lo único que tendría que acotar es que si hubiese sido más corto tendríamos el mejor disco de su carrera a la fecha.

From Boys For Peleand Choirgirl I haven’t enjoyed a Tori’s album so much like this one, we know Tori doesn’t have to prove anything, she’s one of the most influential and representative artist in the industry, nonetheless American Doll Posse is one of her best works. Going through rock, blues, souls and gospel, this album compiles the best moments of previous eras to reveale them as new and fresh.
Highlights: Big Wheel, promotional single which she called herself a MILF, Bouncing off Clouds probably the next single of the album, Teenage Hustling is the most agresive track, my favorite, this one was made to sound great live, Code Red is the darkest one, reminds me Boys For Pele album, Mr. Bad Man and Almost Rosey are the typical Tori songs with the piano arrangements.
Finally, 23 songs for a great album, agresive, sentimental, personal and diverse but not as Little Earthquakes, Boy For Pele or Scarlet’s Walk, the only “bad” thing I have to say about this record is the duration, probably if it would be more short this would be the best of her career.
