Death Cab for Cutie || Pity and Fear (@ NPR)

10 04 2008

In NPR’s All Songs Considered you can listen a new song “Pity and Fear” of upcoming Death Cab For Cutie album and also 1 minute of Wolf Parade’s Call it a Ritual
When it comes to new DCFC I will only tell (one more time) that it’s too soon for a verdict.. but with the last 2 songs and that cover, all I have is fear :(

Thanks for the heads up on Wolf Parade and Shearwater. I’m a big fan of both of them.

Seriously? (13:53:12) :

You serious? This stuff is great!

I’ll admit, “I Will Possess Your Heart” sounds tiresome–if you listen to it that way. The first time I heard it, I was horrified because it seemed so boring. The second time, I didn’t wait for Ben Gibbard to start singing, turned it all the way up, and lost myself in the music and ambient noise.

This track is amazing, and I think the cover looks great… it looks like a kinda art piece.

What exactly is your problem with it?

Kerry (14:53:59) :

I’m not sure how I feel about the new Death Cab songs yet. I’m interested to listen to the entire record and see if they can win me over.

It’s probably going to be one of those records that no one can decide if they like or not. Bob Boilen didn’t seem to be able to make a decision on the ASC broadcast.
