Last year I planned to write the mandatory christmas post of the year with some mix of indie songs or something cheesy…. At the end I didn’t do nothing but you can always make an excuse, for example wait for the chinese new year 
Anyway, this is “that” post and I want to share info about The Kennedy Choir’s Choral Beatles. This was a global project, all over the world searching for the best choral group in order to perform Beatles songs.
The chosen one was The Kennedy Choir from Argentina and the sales of the album is for charity… so it’s bad karma to upload or leak a song from this, for that reason I’ll share a youtube video (after the jump) from their recent concert in Spain with Chenoa and a mp3 of that video (that I can do it, it’s not bad karma)

El año pasado tenía pensado hacer el obligatorio post navideño con algún mix de canciones indies (o algo cursi que se le pareciera), en fin que llegamos al 2008 y no lo hice, pero siempre se puede inventar una excusa, por ejemplo… esperar el año nuevo chino 
Bueno, ahora el momento musical y motivo principal del post.
Choral Beatles de The Kennedy Choir.
Este disco formó parte de un proyecto mundial para buscar una agrupación coral que interpretara canciones de los Beatles, a la final la seleccionada fue el Coro Kennedy de Argentina.
Como las ganancias del disco es por caridad y de acuerdo al manual de buen indie-mp3 blogger, regla 4: no hostear canciones de proyectos de caridad, les dejaré un video de youtube de su reciente presentación es España junto a Chenoa (y un mp3 de ese video, eso si se vale)
Esto es muy emotivo

The first time I listened this song (I think I was 11 years old) was on that Freddy Mercury Tribute, Bowie & Lennox’s performance totally blew my mind even though I didn’t know why “that weird woman” was dressed like that
Anyway, this post was conceived originally because of the awesome cover Xiu Xiu made of this song for the album Women As Lovers (have you listened it?.. go here)

La primera vez que escuché esta canción (creo que tenía 11 años) fue en aquel concierto tributo a Freddy Mercury… la presentación de Bowie con Annie Lennox me impacto totalmente (y lo sigue haciendo) a pesar que no sabía que diablos pasaba ahí ni por qué esa “extraña mujer” estaba vestida de esa manera.
En fin, este post fue pensado en principio después de escuchar el gran (y extraño) cover que Xiu Xiu realizó de esta canción para su reciente álbum Women As Lovers (por cierto, ya lo escucharon?… si NO, vayan acá)

Hello, I’m back, all the best for you and yours in this new year.
So… the best way to start is with a new video from upcoming Xiu Xiu’s album “Women as Lovers”. The song “I Do What I Want, When I Want”
I don’t know if this is real, in fact it said it’s a leaked video (on youtube wtf!!!!)
Anyway here there is, at least you can listen the song. (and if you have more information about the veracity… please let me know)
Women As Lovers will be released on January 29.

Ahora mi duda es que no se si es real, será un fake?, no hay mucha información al respecto. De hecho parece ser que se filtró el video (pero ya está en youtube…. ???)
Al menos te queda el escuchar la canción
Women As Lovers será lanzado el 29 de Enero.

Hi everyone, happy new year and all the best in this 2008 for you
I’m still on vacations BUT I wanted to make a quick post to my readers from New York.
Days ago I read a post on Nuyorker about the current Richard Prince’s exhibition on Guggenheim. I didn’t know the story behind the cover of Sonic Youth’s Sonic Nurse until I read that post.
So, in order to shorten the note, the exhibition finish on January 9th and thanks to an astonishing movement by myself (not been seen by a museum employee.. duuh!) and a camera without flash I could photograph that picture

Por mi parte sigo vacacionando, pero este es una nota rápida a los lectores y amigos “nuyorquinos” que quería hacer.
Hace días vi un post en Nuyorker sobre la actual exhibición de Richard Prince en el Guggenheim, confieso que no sabía cual era el origen de la portada del Sonic Nurse de Sonic Youth hasta que leí ese post.
Bueno para acortar el cuento, la exhibición está hasta el 9 de enero, y en un acto de audacia de mi parte (el vigilante no me veía.. duuh!! ) y de cámara sin flash pude tomarle foto al susodicho cuadro.
