If you recommend me a band that plays with violins, there’s a chance of 98.69% that I will like it. For that reason, The Shondes, a NY quartet took my attention. With their debut album “The Read Sea” on January 08, they come with a dramatical performance mixing a punk-rock attitude with “gypsy” influences. Let me be repetitive because I like the opinion that The Shondes will fill the void Sleater-Kinney left after the break-up.

Just listen Let’s Go, for that song I bet on this band… even though I don’t know if this is what Spice Girls referred as Girl Power :p

Si me recomiendas alguna banda que por casualidad incorporen violines en su propuesta, lo más probable es que me guste. Es por ello que me llamó la atención The Shondes, cuarteto de NY, que lanzarán su debut discográfico “The Red Sea” a comienzos del 2008. Con una irreverencia dramática bordeando el punk-rock y combinando ciertas influencias gypsy, me permitiré ser repetitivo y comprar la opinión que dicen vienen a llenar el vacío que Sleater-Kinney dejó luego de su separación.

Por canciones como Let’s Go es por la que apuesto a esta banda, más no se si esto es a lo que las Spice Girls se referían con lo de Girl Power
