Covers | Baby It’s You

English Version:
I always enjoy a Tarantino OST. Without a doubt there’s always a song that I didn’t know (usually a classic) or I finish discovering a new band.
My last experience was with Death Proof OST with the song Baby It’s You. Oh man, that track is stuck in my mind since the release of the cd and yep I didn’t know that track until that moment.
So, a little bit of research cough*wikipedia*cough I found that it was written by Burt Bacharach (music), Barney Williams and Mack David (lyrics), at the beginning it was performed by Shireless and The Beatles but it’s Smith’s version one of the most populars reaching #5 at Billboard.
From all the versions listed here I got 5 to enjoy:

Un agradable momento es ver un soundtrack de alguna película de Tarantino. Sin duda alguna siempre tendrá una canción que ya conocías y te enganchas de manera inexplicable o simplemente descubres alguna banda que generalmente tiende ser algún clásico desempolvado.
El último caso corresponde a Death Proof con Baby It’s You, me he enganchado demasiado con esa canción, además que no la había escuchado antes.
Haciendo research, Baby it’s you fue escrita por Burt Bacharach (música), Barney Williams y Mack David (letra), interpretada en sus inicios por Shireless y The Beatles pero no es sino la de Smith
una de las más conocidas llegando a ocupar el número 5 en la lista Billboard.

Yep… I had to do it, the whole compilation in one post.
Every cover from third season of Weeds for you pleasure.
For me, the best one was Man Man’s cover, followed by The Decemberists.
And for now, we’ll have to wait for the next season to know the new covers.

Para mi la mejor fue la de Man Man, seguida por la de The Decemberists.

Broken Social Scene – The Tracey Fragments Score

The special thing about The Tracey Fragments, as you probably know, is that Broken Social Scene provided the score of the film.
Well, if you go to the film’s website you can find something titled “Re-fragmented”, in that section you can download in 20Gb all the movie in order to make your own version, nice!!!
And the score? YEP, you can also download the score. The good thing is that these files have Creative Commons license, so you can copy, edit, and distribute all the material yay!!
20Gb, that’s a lot of information… Wait, you can go to the link at the bottom of the post and download the Broken Social Scene’s score legally. (Recommended for hardcore fans)
The songs don’t have titles, everyone is identified by numbers “track #”

Pascal Comelade: Mètode De Rocanrol

I won’t lie.
I consider myself a Pascal Comelade’s “fan”, but I only listened 3 of his albums and a bunch of song but I’m convinced that he’s an exceptional and unbeatable musician.
Difficult to find Comelade’s music?… hell yes!!! In fact I didn’t know about his new album, but thanks to a friend a could listen to it: Mètode de Rocanrol.
With that in mind I consider that I must listen more from him in order to do an official review. For that reason I’m just going to recommend you this work with my eyes closed.

No mentiré.
Me considero “fan” de Pascal Comelade pero sólo he escuchado 3 de sus discos y “canciones sueltas” pero con eso estoy más que convencido que es un músico fenomenal e inigualable.
Que es difícil conseguir su trabajo? Pues si, de hecho de no ser por un pana que me comenta su nuevo álbum no lo hubiese sabido jamás: Mètode de Rocanrol.
Con ello en mente, considero que debo escuchar más de su trabajo para dar una crítica sustancial y no me queda más sino recomendar este disco tal cual un fan cegado lo haría.
Que al menos quieren que le de una pista de lo que toca: bueno piezas minimalistas instrumentals, usando diversos “aparatos”, siendo más conocido por sus canciones con pianos de juguete. Pueden enriquecerse más en este post de su L’argot Du Bruit.
Sin más preámbulos les dejo un track de este Mètode de Rocanrol lanzado este mes.
