Leak & Review: Interpol - Our Love To Admire (2007)

Today is the day… it’s out there.
First Impressions:
- It’s not a surprise this album in few words is TOTBL 3.0 or Antics 2.0. Interpol will always sound as Interpol; if they try to change their style… bad things will occur. 
- Wrecking Ball and Lighthouse probably the best of the album so far and the only “experimentation” they have tried. Those songs have a “Grizzly Bear-esque” style that came out of nowhere and I’m pleased with the result. If they keep this new musical trend in future projects, good things will occur.
- But at the end, OLTA brings the joy to all of you who likes this kind of sound, the formula still works and I still feel a nice sensation listening the album just as Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart makes me feel… But watch out, there are new bands that are making great stuff, for example: The National.
- Yep, Wrecking Ball and Lighthouse definitely save the album, and for that reason OLTA will be in everybody’s mind this year.
- Highlights: Pioneer to the Falls, Heinrich Maneuver, Mammoth
- Special mention: All Fired Up

- Yeap I will buy this album ‘cause I’m an Interpol hard-die fan…. But don’t get me wrong… this is just another Interpol album.. plain and simple.

Primeras Impresiones:
- No es una sorpresa que este álbum sea en pocas palabras un TOTBL v.3.0 ó un Antics 2.0. Interpol siempre sonará como Interpol; si ellos al intentar cambiar su estilo no actúan de manera inteligente…. Malas cosas ocurrirán.
- Wrecking Ball y Lighthouse probablemente sean las mejores canciones del álbum y la única experimentación que la banda intentó. Estas canciones tienen un estilo muy “Grizzly Bear-esque” que no se de donde salió, en lo personal creo que les salió muy bien la jugada… si mantienen esta nueva tendencia musical…… buenas cosas ocurrirán.
- Pero, a la final OLTA trae la felicidad a todos los que nos gustan este estilo retro New Order/Joy Division, la formula todavía parece funcionar y yo todavía percibo un buen sentimiento al escuchar el álbum como Love Will Tear Us Apart me hace sentir… pero OJO, hay nuevas bandas que están haciendo cosas muy buenas, por ejemplo: The National. Interpol no debe dormirse.
- Pues si…. Wrecking Ball y Lighthouse definitivamente salvan el álbum, y por esa razón OLTA estará en boca de todos durante el año.

- ¿comprar el álbum? Pues si, pero porque soy un fan acérrimo de Interpol, pero no me malinterpreten.. este no es sino otro álbum de Interpol, así de simple.

The National isn’t a new band. They’ve been around since 99′, just like Interpol.

WTF?? This album is lame.. For example, when I was listening to Heinrich Maneuver and the title track I had to look back at Windows Media Player to be sure that it was Interpol. The title track, “Our Love to Admire” sounds like U2 circa early/mid 90s.. I have loved Interpol in the past, but this new album doesn’t sound inspired whatsoever.. Where are the catchy hooks and awesome sub-intellectual metaphors?!?
