Joanna Newsom & The Ys Street Band es el nuevo EP de Joanna, el cual me enganchó al instante al nivel de darle una nueva oportunidad al álbum Ys y finalmente “entenderlo”.
3 canciones, siendo nueva “Colleen” con cierta influencias gitanas o árabes. Las siguientes son nuevas versiones de “Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie” que no difiere mucho de la original con excepción de la voces que la acompañan y “Cosmia“, esta version supera en tiempo a la original del álbum Ys.

En fin, creo que este Ep fue realizado para dar a conocer la música de Joanna y conseguir nuevos fans, un disco relativamente corto, con canciones excelentes… sin duda uno de los mejores EP’s del año a pesar que no presenta algo nuevo en realidad.

Y si, todas las palabras de las canciones empiezan con “C”.

Joanna Newsom & The Ys Street Band is the new EP of Joanna, I loved this record at first “sight” that I went to listen again Ys album to finally understand it.

This EP has 3 songs; one of them is a new one called “Colleen”, an excellent track with some Arabic or maybe gipsy influences.
The other 2 songs are new versions of “Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie” and “Cosmia”, there is not a big difference compared to the originals but I think this EP was conceived to be more accessible and attract new listeners (let’s be honest, Ys is an excellent album but not everybody will listen a 16 minutes song)

And yep, all the words of the titles of the songs start with “C”
