Biorritmo Podcast | Edición #0: Inicio
7Biorritmo Podcast es un proyecto que nació en Pura Cabilla, con la idea de seleccionar una emoción, acción o situación en particular para musicalizarla con una canción de nuestra selección. De esa manera, además de hacer un divertido ejercicio mental, compartiremos música y opiniones.
Esta edición, número ” 0 “, tiene como fundamento seleccionar canciones para “iniciar algo”.

El primer trabajo de estos Texanos, “How Strange, Innocence” delimitaba los comienzos de una banda buscando su propio sonido, el segundo álbum “Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever” estuvo orientado a la guerra, para finalmente pasar al “The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place” como su disco sobre el amor.
Ahora regresan con “All of A Sudden I Miss Everyone”, enfocándose esta vez en la soledad. Si sigues a los EITS debes estar al tanto de su estilo instrumental basados en puras guitarras y batería para crear atmósferas, crescendos, y armonías melancólicas que luego explotan. Con este nuevo álbum se encuentran más vivos que nunca. Es verdad que siguen sonando como antes (o como siempre) pero a mi parecer eso es lo que esperas de una banda como ellos, cambiar de estilo (incluso incorporar voces) sería un paso en falso muy arriesgado.
All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone se pasea por 6 tracks en 45 minutos, regalándonos grandes sorpresas y manteniendo esos momentos de satisfacción al escucharlos (recomendadas Welcome, Ghosts y Catastrophe and the Cure)… este disco es de lo mejorcito que ha salido en el año mientras esperamos próximos trabajos de Sigur Ros, Mogwai o Boards Of Canada.

The first work of these Texans, “How Strange, Innocence” demarked the beginnings of a band in the search of their own sound, “Those “Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die” was their war-oriented album, finally “The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place” was achieved as their love songs work.
Now, they come back with “All of A Sudden I Miss Everyone” focus on the feeling of loneliness. If you follow the work of EITS you should be aware of their instrumental style of guitars and drums in order to create atmospheres, crescendos and melancholy harmonies that explodes. It’s true they keep sounding as usual, there’s nothing innovative in the album, but that’s the reason we like them, any change of their style would be very risky.
All of A Sudden I Miss Everyone goes trough 6 tracks in 45 minutes giving us great surprises and keeping those moments of satisfaction while we listen their music (recommended Welcome, Ghosts and Catastrophe and The Cure), this album is one of the best this year so far while we wait for upcoming works of Sigur Ros, Mogwai or Boards Of Canada.

Español: Otra de las miles razones por la que debo agradecer a la película Little Miss Sunshine es el haber podido escuchar esta banda de Denver. DeVotchka, es un grupo que mezcla distintos estilos musicales como el Mariachi, la música griega y música de la Europa Oriental, adaptándolos al folk americano.
Nos quedaríamos cortos tratando de relacionarlos con alguna banda en particular, pero su estilo es cercano a Caléxico, Iron&Wine con mezcla de Beirut. Su reciente trabajo, apartando su gran colaboración en la banda Sonora de Little Miss Sunshine, es el EP Curse Your Little Heart (2006), sin embargo el último larga duración es el How It Ends del año 2002 14 cortes en el cual se pasean por las raices folklóricas mexicanas en “We’re Leaving”, un track especial con acordeones que no le pierde la pinta a Yann Tiersen “Charlotte Mittnacht” y las fiesta “árabe” o quizás griega de su “Dearly Departed” y “Lunnaya Pogonka” son momentos claves de este agradable álbum que no podrás dejar pasar por alto por su riqueza en diversidad sonora.
No obstante, es claro que su trademark viene enmarcada por el single “You Love Me” y el que le da nombre al álbum “How It Ends” que por cierto está incluída en la película Little Miss Sunshine, entre otros. No quedaría nada más que decir que se recomienda altamente.

My Violent Heart, a track from the upcoming NIN album “Year Zero” has “leaked”. It’s said the pendrive was found: “in a men’s bathroom, stall 4, coliseum, lisbon, portugal”
Everybody is talking about the campaign around this album, in other post I’ll tell the details… for now, here’s the tracklist of the CD…. you can see that “my violent heart” single is the only one that has a “mark” (insert The Twilight Zone theme here)
What’s my opinion about the single?…. It’s too early to say something about it.

Se dice que el pendrive donde se encontraba el archivo fue encontrado “en un baño de caballeros en un concierto de NIN reciente en Lisboa Portugal”
Hay mucha “bulla” alrededor del álbum, ligado con la campaña de intriga que están realizando, luego daré detalles, por ahora aquí el tracklist, que por casualidad hoy el single “My Violent Heart” tiene una marca que los demás no lo tienen…… (tiri tiri tiri, insertar sonido de The Twilight Zone)
¿Cuál es mi opinión respecto al single?. Es muy temprano todavía como para formarse una idea…
