Grace Potter and The Nocturnals representan al género “roots-rock”. Como dice la Wikipedia: Roots-Rock es definido como una ramificación de la música “Americana” el cual comprende blues, country, rock entre otros…… y eso es lo que esta banda de Vermont engloba.

Sus conciertos llenos de energía son liderizados por la voz de Grace Potter, la cual recuerda (como todos incansablemente señalan) a las leyendas Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt y la gran Janis Joplin…. También me hace recordar a Sheryl Crow.

Revisando el álbum, veo que hay algo a considerar en la banda, y es el adoptar un estilo influenciado en los años 60’s y 70’s que los hace especiales y únicos, es por ello que se puede identificar como su carta de presentación.

No hay mucho más que decir sino que en la actualidad se encuentran trabajando en su próximo álbum.

This band represents the “Roots-Rock” genre. As Wikipedia said: Roots Rock is a sometimes vaguely-defined genre of Americana music that draws on early rock and roll, blues, country music, country rock, and/or other related forms…….. and that’s what this band from Vermont is about.

They are rocking their concerts, leaded by Grace Potter whose voice could be related (as every review points) to Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin. In my opinion, Sheryl Crow easily enters in this list.

Checking out the album, there’s something about the band, a style from the 60’s or 70’s that makes special the essence of Grace Potter And The Nocturnals, that’s their trademark.

There’s no more to say, right now they are working on their next album.
