Pueden llamarlo una película o un video musical de larga duración. El caso es que en sus 20 minutos aprox, este film creado para darle publicidad al Broken EP es un compilado de los videos de NIN a la fecha (1992), aderezado por explícitas imágenes de tortura y S&M, propias de un video snuff.

En vista de tales escenas, fue obviamente censurado, el rumor es que la cinta la mantuvieron en hold por un tiempo para hacerle una investigación policial y corroborar si era real o no lo que se veía. A la final Trent y compañía quedaron inocentes de toda sospecha.

A pesar de ese percance, nunca se pudo comercializar oficialmente. Trent decidió hacer copias y distribuirlas a sus amigos y de ahí se fue intercambiando el video. Es por ello que lo que se encuentra en internet es de una calidad bien shit posiblemente grabado en VHS y cuidado sino en Betamax… sin embargo la idea de la película es dar esa sensación de casero snuff por lo que relativamente se podría como que perdonar este detalle.

Actualmente hay 2 versiones del video en las redes P2P. La original de aprox 300 megas… y una segunda versión “DVD remasterizada” hecha por un fan en el que intenta mejorar la calidad de audio y video.. y editando algunas partes, esta ocupa 1.4 Gb.

Esta cinta es sólo para fanáticos de la banda desde sus inicios, se pasea por canciones como Pinion, Wish, Help Me I Am In Hell, Hapiness in Slavery, Gave Up, aquellos que quedaron pegados por lo elegante y magistral de la presentación de The Fragile en los MTV VMA del 99… pues no verán lo mismo en esa cinta.

Lo último que se sabe es que se tenía pensado incluir el Broken Movie en el posible lanzamiento en DVD del Closure. Pero es un simple rumor sin esperanza (tanto lo del video como el Closure DVD)

Las 2 versiones la pueden encontrar tanto en emule como en la red torrent.

You can name this a movie or a full length music video. The case is that in its 20 minutes, this film created to promote Broken EP is a compilation of NIN videos up to date (1992), but with explicit scenes of torture, S&M stuff and yada yada yada that you can say this is a snuff film.

This movie was censored because of these scenes, the rumor is that the film was shelved in order to make a criminal investigation, the police needed to know if all the stuff in that movie was real or not. Finally Trent and company were innocents.

Despite of that incident, the film was never commercialized officially. Trent decided to make copies and give them to his friends… and later the movie arrived to the Internet. Because of this, the video quality of the film is shit, probably was recorded on VHS (or Betamax)…. nevertheless, the idea of the movie is to give you that “amateur-snuff” feeling, so you can forgive the quality.

Now the video arrived to P2P programs, there’re 2 versions. The original is 300MB, and there’s a second version DVD re-mastered made by a NIN fan in which he tried to improve the audio and video quality, this version is 1.4 GB.

The film is recommended only for truly fans, it goes through songs such as Pinion, Wish, Help Me I Am In Hell, Happiness in Slavery, Gave Up…. for those of you that like the elegant and brilliant performance of The Fragile at the MTV VMA 99…… you won’t find the same thing in this film.
