Sometimes I forget how much I like Sonic Youth, this week I had in high rotation the Dry album and suddenly (while I was rocking with Nic Fit) I thought that a cover post would be nice. I started to search and I found a lot, but I stopped it because I think this page has a looot of information about Sonic Youth covers. Enjoy it.

A veces se me olvida lo MUCHO que me gusta Sonic Youth, esta semana he tenido en alta rotación el Dry y de repente me dije por qué no hacer un post de covers, haciendo búsquedas encontré una gran gama de versiones que desgloso al final, se que existen muchas más pero no las coloqué porque prefiero que ustedes mismos las vean en esta gran página que encontré de la banda.

We stop our usual indie news to give you info about a new track from Coldplay’s Viva la Vida.
How does it sound? Well, Viva la Vida sounds as the same amazing Coldplay hit song with violins that will make you cry, smile and sing OHH oOOhHH oOOOH, and the girls will say this song is a part of their lives and yada yada yada… (seriously it’s “beautiful” but that’s it.)

The album of the week for obvious reasons is Nine Inch Nails’ The Slip… BUT new Mount Eerie’s EP made me forget Trent’s surprises for a moment (just a moment)

Black Wooden just blows your mind, it’s explosive, louder, an end-of-the-world melody. However it’s a clean work, elegantly strident, for example the guitar riffs of “Appetite” track are classics, memorable, unforgettable…. 6 songs in a little wonder, a 2008 surprise, a 10 out of 10…. (yes, I’m a little bit obsessed with this album)

El disco de la semana sin duda es The Slip de Nine Inch Nails…. PERO el nuevo EP de Mount Eerie se coló en mi lista y es el que hizo olvidarme de las sorpresas de Trent (aunque sea por un momento).

Black Wooden simplemente te vuela la cabeza, es explosivo, es fuerte como si quisiera anunciar el fin del mundo, sin embargo de alguna manera hay pulcritud, el trabajo es elegantemente estridente, por ejemplo los riffs de guitarra del primer track “Appetite” son magistrales, clásicos, memorables…. 6 canciones que forman parte de una pequeña maravilla, una sorpresa del 2008, un 10/10…. (sip, estoy un poco obsesionado con este disco)

What a busy day!!!, now we have information of new Brendan Canning album from the Broken Social Scene presents series. The title “Something For All Of Us…”, release date: July 22, and as previously reported in this post, it seems that “Hit The Wall” is the first single.

Also we had Kevin Drew watching a porn, now is Brendan watching a soccer game.

Today at VH1 you can watch Radiohead’s In Rainbows From The Basement, the band returned to Nigel Godrich’s basement for a new performance.

Right now, if you don’t have VH1 you can watch it online right here, but if you’re outside US the only way to watch it and listen it is with the links at bottom.

These files were ripped by ateaseweb fellas, taken from VH1 website, they have “low audio quality, some cuts here and there”, so, in the next days will come out better versions. For more info on the TV broadcast rip you can go here
